Executive Director’s Message

Last year the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved the Meridian Housing Authority’s annual plan request to place approximately (17) single family homes under a Homeownership Transition Program (HTP) developed by MHA. Eight of the seventeen homes were constructed in the Carousel Place Community.

Plans are currently underway to build the final two HTP homes through the utilization of the agency’s Replacement Housing Factor funding source. These houses will be included in the Homeownership Transition Program to encourage a successful path to homeownership.

All eligible participants of the HTP must be enrolled in MHA’s Family Self-Sufficiency Program. Each registered member must be in full compliance with current FSS contractual obligations. Participating families must also comply with MHA’s three bedroom occupancy policy requirements. Tenure in MHA’s HTP shall not exceed an occupancy period of twenty-four (24) months.

For more information regarding MHA’s Family Self Sufficiency or Homeownership Transition Programs, contact your property manager or Shelia Austin FSS PH Coordinator at (601) 683-2800, ext. 228.
