As we embark upon the dawning of a New Year, I want to take a moment to reflect on this past year. We have had some joyous times in which we could not believe the great things that we experienced, the joy of some new arrivals to our families and then there were times in which we lost loved ones who we will miss forever. But, we will all know that 2017 was a year that will be remembered for some time to come. I want to give a heartfelt thanks to the Commissioners, staff , MHA partners and most of all to the residents for without you none of the great things MHA has accomplished last year would have been possible.
I want to continue to encourage each resident to take full advantage of the programs made available through MHA’s Community and Supportive Services Department, particularly the new ROSS program that will focus on providing opportunities for families to transition out of governmental assistance into a home of their own. The ROSS program will also focus on providing seniors with activities that will allow them to age in place and have an improved quality of life.
MHA is looking forward to increasing the number of families participating in the Homeownership Transition Program (HTP). One of our main goals for 2018, is to ensure that many of the families currently enrolled in the HTP program will move into their own home and start enjoying life as a self-sufficient family free of depending upon governmental support.
Again, may each and everyone have a joyous and prosperous New Year and may this year be the best year ever!
