Meridian Housing Authority Police Liaison Program
The Meridian Housing Authority employs certified police officers to provide community policing services to the Meridian Housing Authority. The police officers are recommended by the Chief of Police and approved by the Executive Director of the Housing Authority to serve as MHA’s Liaison Officers.” The Authority reimburses the City of Meridian at a rate specified for the dedicated services of the liaison officers.
The liaison officers provide daily activity logs identifying specific HUD requirements in addition to completing daily incident reports on criminal activities occurring on or around properties managed by MHA. The liaison officers also provide monthly crime statistics that reflect incidents resulting in arrests as opposed to calls for service.
Routine meetings are coordinated between MHA residents and liaison officers in an effort to address the immediate concerns of the residents.
Always call 911 in case of an emergency!
