Executive Director’s Message – August 2018

The Meridian Housing Authority remains dedicated to its “Commitment to Excellence” in providing quality, affordable and superior customer service to MHA residents.  As a result of the Authority’s most recent annual planning process, the following improvement projects are now underway: (1) Heating unit replacement at George Reese Court and Highway Village. (2) Interior painting solicitations are being advertised to paint occupied apartments at: Mountain View Village, Oakland Heights Gardens, Highway Village, Eastern Gardens, Western Gardens, Sowashee Courts, Magnolia Courts and George Reese Courts. (3)  Contract bidding is underway to replace storm doors and exterior doors at George Reese Courts. (4) Security cameras are currently installed at Highway Village, Western Gardens and Oakland Heights Gardens. (5) Bids are currently being taken to provide security camera installation at:  Eastern Gardens, Sowashee Courts, George Reese Court, Mt. Barton and Sowashee Courts. (6) New fire extinguishers are scheduled to be placed in over 900 apartments over the next thirty day period. (7) Major modernization efforts are underway at George Reese Court, Highway Village, Eastern Gardens and Oakland Heights as a result of the latest E-F2 tornado in the city of Meridian.  To learn more about special economic opportunities provided at MHA, please visit www.meridianhousing.net

The Meridian Housing Authority was incorporated in 1939 and provides affordable housing opportunities to more than 3,000 residents in the City of Meridian. The agency currently administers 1214 public housing units, 215 Housing Choice Vouchers and 89 privately owned apartments.
