The Meridian Housing Authority’s Board of Commissioners along with its administrative staff is pleased to announce that Certificates of Excellence were awarded to MHA for exemplary performance in the operations of its Housing Choice Voucher Program and Housing Operation’s Management process. MHA expended 98 percent in HCV Budget Authority and scored 37 of 40 points on its recent HUD Real Estate Assessment.

MHA received recognition for its service to 1,054 public housing families at the annual state conference held on August 19, 2022, in Biloxi, Mississippi.

The Mississippi Housing and Redevelopment Officials (MAHRO) consist of fifty-five (55) public housing authorities across the state of Mississippi. MAHRO promotes and encourages the highest level of ethics within the affordable housing industry. MAHRO along with HUD recognizes industry leaders for exercising diligence, objectivity, and honesty in executing professional housing responsibilities.
The Meridian Housing Authority exist to provide decent, safe, and affordable housing opportunities for over 3,500 eligible citizens. Additionally, MHA owns and operates 1,054 affordable housing apartments and administers 211 Housing Choice Vouchers.
