MHA PARTNERS WITH LOCAL HEALTH CENTERS TO PROVIDE COVID-19 VACCINATIONS
(Greater Meridian Health Clinic” and “Health Care on the Go” to administer vaccinations to MHA residents and local MHA communities.)
WHAT: The Meridian Housing Authority’s Executive Director ,Ronald Turner Sr along with its Board of Commissioners and Resident Advisory Board announces its initiative to partner with local community care providers Greater Meridian Health Clinic and Health Care on the Go to administer COVID-19 vaccinations to underserved minority communities in Meridian. This partnership highlights the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Meridian Housing Authority’s aggressive efforts to improve vaccine confidence and vaccine access throughout MHA’s nine public housing communities. The Moderna vaccine is now scheduled to be administered by MHA’s community health partners.
WHEN: Tuesday April 20, 2021 and Wednesday April 21,2021 from 9:00am to 12:00 noon (each day)
(The Moderna vaccine will be administered each day by healthcare provider “Health Care on the Go”)
WHERE: The MHA Envision Center located at: 804 42nd Avenue Meridian, MS in the Frank Berry Courts Affordable Housing Community
DETAILS: Through the Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program 1,470 community health centers including 108 Public Housing Primary Care providers will distribute federally provided vaccines to their communities many of which serve public housing and HUD assisted residents. The MHA, Greater Meridian Health Clinic and Health Care on the Go” partnership is aimed at increasing the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine and ending the coronavirus pandemic.
