MHA Board Chairman Recognized as “2014 Commissioner of the Year for the State of Mississippi”
The Jackson Mississippi Field Office of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) along with representatives from the Mississippi Association of Housing and There are approximately (275) commissioners representing (55) public housing authorities located throughout the State of Mississippi.
Redevelopment Officials (MAHRO) has selected Wilbert Jones as the “2014 Commissioner of the Year.”
Each year this coveted award recognizes the state’s top public housing commissioner for outstanding achievement in the following categories: (1) Length of time served on the Public Housing Authority’s Board of Commissioners, (2) Contributions to the Housing Authority’s residents and operations, (3) Involvement and Contributions to the local community, (4) Participation in commissioner’s educational training courses sponsored by the MAHRO and HUD associations and (5) Any other supporting documentation to support the nomination.
The MAHRO annual state Commissioners Conference recognition ceremony was held at the Grand Marriot Resort Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama.
